Rich Trueman & the 22nd Street Horn Band is Milwaukee’s premier eight-piece horn band, delivering an exciting mix of Soul, R&B, Classic Rock, Blues, Funk, and Jazz. Founded by two University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee music students who wanted to revive the excitement of classic horn bands, the group takes its name from the community center at 22nd Street and National Avenue where it first rehearsed. Inspired by legendary artists such as Chicago, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Tower of Power, Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes, and the great Motown and Stax performers, the band combines outstanding musicianship with an unforgettable live show.
